Hypervisor subscription licences (VMware Cloud Foundation / Broadcom)

Summary

The tender covers the renewal of licences and related support for Universitätsklinikum Frankfurt’s VMware Cloud Foundation virtualisation platform. For 12 months, from 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2027, the supplier must provide 2,360 core licences for each of VMware Cloud Foundation and the VMware vDefend Firewall Bundle. The licences must be registered to the contracting authority’s manufacturer account, maintaining uninterrupted continuation of the existing licensed environment and manufacturer support. Manufacturer Production Support must be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for critical incidents (Severity 1). The supplier must also provide an on-demand allowance of up to 5 person-days of technical support, callable in 0.5-day increments; the contracting authority is not required to use the allowance. Support covers escalations with the manufacturer, licensing and compliance advice, and estimating requirements for a subsequent licence procurement. The supplier must provide proof of licence entitlement and a licence balance, and meet the insurance, VMware/Broadcom partner-status, manufacturer sales and support authorisation, and business-register requirements. Price is the sole award criterion. Bids must be submitted electronically in German; only one main bid is allowed and alternative bids are not accepted.
