Scientific Work and Research Boat
Summary
The procurement covers the design, construction and delivery of a ready-for-service aluminium scientific work and research boat for the Ocean Science Centre Mindelo in Cape Verde. The supplier must also provide a trailer suitable for transporting and storing the boat ashore, arrange sea transport, commission the vessel, test its systems, complete acceptance in Mindelo and train the crew. The scientific deck equipment to be installed later, including the winch and capstan, is not part of the supply; however, the supplier must provide the structural and electrical preparations needed for its later installation. Key minimum requirements include an overall length of 11–12 m, a beam of at least 3.4 m, a fully equipped draft of no more than 1 m and a transport weight of no more than 8,000 kg. It must meet CE design category B, accommodate at least one skipper and four scientists on day trips, have two independent inboard diesel engines, achieve a cruising speed of at least 20 knots and have a range of at least 12 hours at 20 knots without refuelling. The work also includes testing and acceptance, technical documentation, training, a two-year warranty and spare-parts availability for at least 15 years. The tender is an open procedure. Bids are due by 10:00 on 2 November 2026 and must remain valid until 1 December 2026.
