Emergency Department Refurbishment – Flooring Works

Summary

The procurement covers flooring works for the refurbishment and expansion of the emergency department at Ludwigshafen Hospital. The work will be carried out in two construction phases while the hospital remains in operation. It includes removing existing flooring; cleaning, milling and repairing the substrate; priming and levelling; supplying, installing and heat-welding new PVC flooring; installing skirtings, conductive copper tapes, wall upstands and transition details; protecting and finally cleaning the floors; properly managing waste; and handing over the required records. Non-conductive PVC flooring is intended for general areas, while electrostatically dissipative flooring is required in the CT, shock and procedure rooms. The quantities include approximately 1,700 m² of substrate preparation and floor protection, 1,330 m² of general-area flooring, 180 m² of corridor flooring and 200 m² of conductive flooring. Bidders must submit a priced bill of quantities and offer letter and demonstrate suitability, relevant experience and the required insurance. Price is the sole award criterion.
