Tunable laser source 2 (IMS-5.4)

Summary

Fraunhofer is procuring one tunable laser source and one optical power meter for measurements around 1550 nm. The system must support high-resolution wavelength sweeps, and the laser and meter must be synchronizable to characterize photonic integrated circuits and devices in and around the C-band. Detailed technical requirements include, among other things, a laser wavelength range of at least 1520–1620 nm, a meter range of at least 1300–1620 nm, optical connectors, remote interfaces, software, and specified power and measurement-accuracy performance. Optional extras are RS-232 and USB 2.0 interfaces and a built-in laser operating-status display. Bidders must provide a company profile, turnover for the last three financial years, and at least three comparable projects completed within the last three years. The bid must state a binding delivery time in whole calendar weeks from contract award; failure to state it results in exclusion. Bidders must also identify the manufacturer part number and country of delivery and submit the required signed declarations and forms, including the export-classification form and a completed, signed site-visit confirmation. The award criteria are technical features (45%), price (35%), delivery time (10%), and sustainability (10%). The system's combined power consumption must not exceed 1 kW in operation or 0.5 kW in standby.
