Tender detail
Development of a medical virtual reality training application for pediatric surgical education and continuing training
Summary
The tender concerns the development of an interactive virtual reality training application for pediatric surgery. The work includes design, implementation, medical validation, testing, quality assurance, documentation and handover of the complete compilable source code. All four modules must be delivered: an infant inguinal hernia surgery training scenario, an observer mode, an assessment and feedback module, and soft-body or deformation simulation. The application must provide realistic anatomy and surgical procedures, real-time interaction, error and complication scenarios, operation on standalone VR hardware such as PICO 4, Meta Quest 3 or equivalent, and basic operation without a permanent internet connection. The project must be completed by March 2028. Offers are evaluated using the project concept and price, weighted at 50% each. The submission deadline is 29 September 2026 at 11:00; variant offers are not permitted.
