Implementation of Battery Energy Storage System at Čierny Váh

Summary

Slovenské elektrárne is procuring the engineering, supply, construction and commissioning of a battery energy storage system at Čierny Váh. The single-lot project includes battery containers, conversion and energy-management systems, electrical and civil works, integration with the existing plant and connection to a new 400 kV substation bay. The system must provide at least 480 MWh of usable energy capacity and 120 MW of rated power, and support grid reserves, market services and backup island operation for the pumped-storage plant.
