Retirement of voluntary carbon market emission reduction credits for greenhouse gas compensation

Summary

The tender concerns the retirement of voluntary carbon market emission reduction credits (VERs) to compensate emissions of the Bavarian State Government, official business flights of Bavarian state employees and the Bavarian Environment Agency. A total of 33,813 certificates will be procured in three lots of 11,271 certificates each. Bidders may submit offers for all or only some lots and may submit several main offers per lot for different projects and project countries. Lots 1 and 2 accept credits generated between 1 January 2016 and 31 December 2020; Lot 3 accepts credits from projects based on reductions achieved after 2020. The most economically advantageous offer is selected separately for each lot, based on project location, contribution to sustainable development, special project characteristics and transformational contribution.
