Protection of natural monuments in the historic Habsburg Park in Żywiec

Summary

The tender covers care, sanitary, clearance and protection work on the crowns of 16 protected natural monument trees in the historic Habsburg Park in Żywiec. The work includes maintenance, sanitary, corrective, thinning and technical-reduction pruning, as well as installing or replacing flexible bracing to strengthen damaged crowns. The scope comprises 648.50 working hours, plus chipping branches generated by the tree-care work (47.80 machine hours). Removal of timber is excluded; the contracting authority will arrange its transport. All tree work must be performed using climbing techniques, with measures to protect the historic park and its users, and coordinated with the authority and park administrator while the park remains open as usual. The contractor bears the cost of transporting the materials, tools and equipment needed for the work. Vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of up to 3.5 tonnes may use only paved paths and only to transport equipment. Any damaged path surface must be restored within 10 days. The bid must include a price form and proof that the material used for flexible crown bracing is suitable for that purpose. A 36-month defect-liability period is required, and the completion period must be between 1 and 5 months from contract signature. Bidders must have the specified experience in tree-care work, including work in a heritage-protected area, and provide qualified personnel to manage conservation work and carry out technical work. Before signing the contract, the successful bidder must provide evidence of insurance cover of at least PLN 500,000. The award criteria are total price (60%), the conservation works manager’s experience (25%) and the completion period (15%).
