Guiding Waste-Centre Users on Sorting with Recycling Advisors

Summary

The contract covers the provision of trained recycling advisors at SMD3’s main waste collection centres. They will guide visitors on waste sorting and help direct waste away from the non-recoverable stream into appropriate collection and recovery streams. Tasks include, among other things, receiving green waste and directing visitors to areas for construction and demolition products and reuse. The aims are to keep sorting errors in the non-recoverable stream sent for disposal below 10%, improve performance in producer-responsibility waste streams, and improve service to visitors. At certain centres, the work also includes managing furniture and construction and demolition product streams where the site layout does not allow dedicated containers to be placed at the loading platform. This is a reserved service contract; the precise eligibility conditions for the reservation must be checked in the tender documents. The contract runs initially from 1 January to 31 December 2027 and may be renewed up to three times under the conditions set out in the tender documents. Bids must be submitted electronically. Bidders must provide turnover information for up to the three most recent available financial years, workforce and management-staff figures for the last three years, and references for their main deliveries or services during the last three years, including value, date and recipient. A declaration confirming that no exclusion grounds apply is also required.
