Construction works for the new General University Hospital of Castellón

Summary

The tender covers construction works for the first phase of the new General University Hospital of Castellón. The works include a new hospital building with inpatient, intensive-care, outpatient, diagnostic and treatment services; an administrative building connecting the new and existing buildings; a satellite building for technical installations and support services; a 500-space underground car park; and a rooftop helipad that must be legalized for operation. The existing hospital must remain operational during construction, and the new building must be connected to it. The contractor must also prepare the final construction documentation and complete the legalizations required to put the installations into service. This is a single-lot, open procedure subject to EU procurement rules. The works are scheduled to last 60 months. The estimated value is EUR 431,296,750.18 excluding VAT. Prices are subject to review under the stated formula after at least 20% of the contract has been performed and one year has passed since contract signature; work performed during the first year and the first 20% of the contract are excluded from review. Tenderers must hold works-contractor classification Group C, Buildings, Category 6. Bids are assessed on a 100-point scale: price 50 points, additional experience of the team 10, construction monitoring using new technologies 5, extended warranty 5, knowledge of the works 25, and proposed warranty-period actions 5. The technical bid must include the required work-organization and warranty-action plans. During contract performance, the contractor must meet at least one social condition: women must account for at least 35% of the designated team’s working time, or workers aged 50 or over for at least 20%, or workers aged 35 or under for at least 20%.
