Rental of a therapeutic apheresis system with an option to purchase

Summary

The contract covers one centrifugal therapeutic apheresis system for the haematology laboratory at Santa Lucia University Hospital. It includes transport, installation, commissioning and staff training. The system must support, among other procedures, the separation of blood cells and plasma and meet the tender’s patient-safety, traceability and workflow requirements. The equipment will be rented monthly for 36 months with an option to purchase; ownership transfers to the hospital once all instalments have been paid. The estimated contract value is EUR 87,130.50 excluding VAT and EUR 105,427.90 including 21% VAT. A correction to the evaluation documents set the points available for criteria assessed by qualitative judgement at 49. The estimated annual workload is approximately 10 patients receiving erythrocytapheresis, with 4–6 sessions each, and 3–4 patients receiving lymphocyte apheresis, with one procedure each.
