Renewal of platform 2 and construction of a lift at platform 3 at Backnang station

Summary

At Backnang station, platform 2 will be renewed: the existing island platform section will be demolished, shortened and completely rebuilt. The works also include 50 Hz electrical installations, separation of utility services and renovation of the pedestrian underpass, including its electrical installations. In addition, a lift will be built at platform 3 and connected to the municipal pedestrian overpass; an existing vaulted structure will be filled in, and work will be carried out on the overhead contact line and signalling and control systems.
