Treatment and recovery of biowaste

Summary

The tender concerns the receipt, treatment and recovery of biowaste from private households in Chemnitz, including the handling of resulting foreign matter and residual waste. The main contract period is 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2028, with two possible six-month extensions, at most until 31 December 2029. The estimated quantity is approximately 21,000 tonnes per year: 16,000 tonnes of biowaste from organic-waste bins, 4,000 tonnes of green waste, and 1,000 tonnes of filled green-waste bags and green waste collected in 30 m³ containers. Quantities may vary by up to plus or minus 10% by category. The bidder must provide a suitable, environmentally authorised treatment facility with sufficient spare capacity, describe the biological treatment and recovery process, and submit permits, facility information, weighing evidence and the recovery operator’s declaration. Where necessary, the bidder must also arrange a transfer point in Chemnitz, containers and onward transport. The transfer point should normally be located within 15 km of the fixed point at Falkeplatz. The tender must include completed and signed forms for treatment prices, transfer prices and transport distance. The contract will be awarded to the most economically advantageous tender; where suitability is equal, the lowest calculated price will prevail. The calculated price consists of the annual treatment and transfer prices. The submission deadline is 8 October 2026.
