Renewal of the Hersel railway interlocking
Summary
The tender concerns the design, construction and commissioning of a new railway interlocking system and associated infrastructure on an approximately 7.7 km section of 750 V DC electrified public railway between Wesseling Süd and Bornheim-Hersel. The scope includes 28 points, 10 existing level-crossing protection systems, LED signalling, track vacancy detection, power supply, cable supply and installation, train control, adaptations to neighbouring interlockings, integration with the existing control system, a new interlocking building, testing and acceptance. The supplied technology must be fully approved for unrestricted use on public railways in Germany, comply with recognised technical standards, meet AK 7 and SIL 4, support movable-point frogs and be suitable for light-rail vehicles with wheels differing from EBO requirements. All approvals must be available without restriction when the tender is submitted. Completion and commissioning are required in August 2028.
