Building radio system works for the Heart Centre and Informatics for Life buildings at Heidelberg University Hospital

Summary

The tender covers the construction of a building radio system for public-safety and security organisations (BOS) in the new Heart Centre and Informatics for Life buildings on the Heidelberg University Hospital campus. The contractor must design, supply and install the system, configure it, carry out measurements and tests, commission it, support fire-service and expert acceptance, and hand over complete documentation. The system includes TMO-A radio equipment, an optical master unit and remote unit, redundant fibre-optic links, 7/8-inch radiating cable, antennas, control and fibre-optic cables, emergency power, a fire-service control panel and a fire-resistant enclosure. The work also includes radio coverage measurement and simulation, applications for frequency and system approvals, and coordination with construction and other building-services trades. The tender documents specify 3,180 m of radiating cable, 400 m of 12-fibre optical cable and 180 m of control cable. Four years of maintenance may be offered under a separate contract. Tenderers must demonstrate comparable turnover for the last three financial years and relevant experience; no minimum turnover amount is specified. Three references may be required during qualification. The project manager must have education equivalent to at least a Dipl.-Ing. (FH) degree or a master-craftsman qualification, and at least three years of site experience on comparable projects.
