Development of a methodology for determining aquathermic heat supply potentials from surface waters (Doris)

Summary

This tender concerns the development of a methodology to determine aquathermic heat supply potentials from surface waters and their spatial representation in Germany. The study treats surface waters as a renewable energy source and describes the different potential levels—from physical availability to exploitable potential. The aim is to develop and refine the methodology for estimating potentials and to create a database for structuring and enabling future potential analyses. In addition, conceptual foundations for later spatial representation of aquathermic potentials will be established. The project provides a unified basis for future national potential assessments and supports the integration of aquathermie into municipal heat planning and the decarbonization of heat supply.
