Analysis of Sentinel Satellite Data for the Area Monitoring System

Summary

The Ministry of Rural Affairs, Agriculture and Home Affairs of Baden-Württemberg is procuring a framework agreement for Sentinel satellite-data analysis for its Area Monitoring System. The core annual services cover project management and reporting, data exchange, automated crop-type recognition, monitoring of agricultural activity and cultivation events, baseline checks, satellite-image processing and the algorithms needed to produce results. The initial term is expected to run from January 2027 to 31 December 2028, with three optional 12-month extensions through 31 December 2031; additional imagery, small-area strategies and further result deliveries may be commissioned as options. The system supports monitoring across approximately 1.6 million hectares, 40,300 annual applicants and 1.4 million agricultural parcels.
