EFRE: Container-Based Pilot Biogas Plant for Residual-Stream Recovery

Summary

FH Aachen is procuring a complete, container-based pilot plant to recover and recycle residual streams from the paper industry. The plant, housed in a 20-foot container, includes a 500-litre anaerobic biogas reactor, substrate storage, solid–liquid separation by chamber filter press, pre-filtration and reverse osmosis, and a zeolite-based nutrient recovery unit. The turnkey scope includes design, delivery, installation, commissioning and operator training at the Jülich campus; the plant must be operational by 30 July 2027.
