GSH Hagen–Hamm – Construction of the Bahnhofstraße railway overpass

Summary

The procurement covers replacing the existing level crossing in Bönen with a railway overpass as part of the major renewal of the Hagen–Hamm railway line. The overpass will have five single-span superstructures: trough bridges with orthotropic decks for tracks 3, 4 and 10, and structures using rolled steel beams encased in concrete for tracks 1 and 2. The abutments will be built on elevated bored-pile foundations. Because of the high groundwater level, intersecting bored-pile walls will be used; these will also serve as a watertight retaining structure for the planned road trough.
