Supply of a microfocus computed tomography scanner

Summary

The procurement is for a new industrial microfocus computed tomography scanner, including the hardware and software needed for operation, delivery, installation, commissioning and training for the RPTU’s scientific and technical staff. The system will be used for non-destructive 3D examination of construction materials and components, including concrete, reinforced concrete, fibre-reinforced composites, pores, cracks and reinforcement-to-concrete interfaces. It must be installed at the RPTU site in Kaiserslautern without structural alterations to the existing reinforced-concrete floor, and delivered within six months of contract award. Bidders must submit a binding total price not exceeding EUR 607,000 including VAT, and demonstrate annual turnover of at least EUR 1.2 million, at least three references for the delivery and commissioning of comparable micro-CT systems, and ISO 9001:2015 quality-management certification. German- and/or English-language service is required. Bidders must provide a detailed offer and evaluation matrix and perform test scans using the purchaser’s samples; results are due within two weeks of receiving the samples, which must also be returned to RPTU within two weeks. The system must, among other things, scan samples at least 200 mm high and 300 mm in diameter in a single scan, support samples weighing at least 15 kg, and achieve 3D structural resolution of 3 µm or better. Offers are assessed using the ratio of performance points to price; alternative offers are not allowed. The submission deadline is 5 November 2026 at 09:00.
