Survey of macrophytes and angiosperms in the tidal Elbe, 2027

Summary

The State of Lower Saxony, through its water management and nature conservation authority, is commissioning a 2027 survey of macrophytes and angiosperms in the tidal Elbe. The work covers 15 monitoring sites in three water bodies—Elbe East (3 sites), Elbe West (3) and the Elbe transitional waters (9)—between the Geesthacht weir and the sea boundary near Cuxhaven; the Port water body is excluded. Sites are to be mapped in spring and during the main growing season, with assessments of ecological status, changes from previous surveys, and the reliability and accuracy of results. The contractor must provide survey records, assessment and calculation tables, site data, and a report in print and digital formats by the end of February 2028; the contract is not divided into lots.
