Conducting the IQB Education Trend 2028

Summary

The Institute for the Quality of Education (IQB) is procuring the preparation and delivery of the 2028 IQB Education Trend study across all 16 German states. The study will assess approximately 31,850 fourth-grade pupils at 1,485 general schools and 125 special schools using digital German and mathematics tests, cognitive skills tasks and questionnaires; parents, teachers and school principals will also be surveyed. The contract covers representative school sampling, fieldwork coordination, survey materials and online surveys, data collection and processing, coding, weighting, delivery of datasets and school feedback. An option provides tablets and related coordination for schools unable to meet the technical requirements for online testing.
