Monitoring macrozoobenthos in Munich water bodies

Summary

The City of Munich is commissioning surveys of macrozoobenthos, focusing on 26 species of conservation priority, in 11 watercourses: the Isar, Kleine Isar, Wenzbach, Brunnbach and its source, Kalterbach, Würmkanal, Fischbach, Erlbach, Maria-Einsiedelbach, Auermühlbach and Schwabinger Bach. The work combines conventional field surveys with eDNA metabarcoding, water measurements and seasonal temperature logging at three streams. The contract also includes two coordination meetings, a report and delivery of GIS, species-record and sequencing data.
