Heritage carpentry work at the former ear, nose and throat clinic, building L2, Jena Institute for Geoanthropology

Summary

The tender covers carpentry work and the protection and safeguarding of heritage features in building L2 of the former ear, nose and throat and urology clinics at the Jena Institute for Geoanthropology. The building is to be extensively stripped out as preparatory work, while protected historic features must not be damaged. The conservation permit, drawings and photographic records form the basis for the protection work. Features to be retained or protected include, among others, staircases, handrails, windows, doors, built-in cupboards and other details identified in the drawings. The procurement is not divided into lots; variant bids and multiple main bids are not permitted. Price is the sole award criterion. Bids must be submitted in German exclusively through the contracting authority’s electronic platform by 28 October 2026 at 11:00. Each file may be no larger than 50 MB. Work must start within 12 working days after the contracting authority’s instruction, which is expected by 18 November 2026 at the latest. The work must be completed within 15 working days after the start period, on the basis of a six-day working week. Bidders must provide three references for comparable work from the last five years, including at least one project involving a heritage-protected building, and demonstrate suitability using the required forms or prequalification registration. The bid must also include a declaration concerning supply-chain due diligence and confirmation of business liability insurance: at least €5 million for personal injury and property damage and €250,000 for financial loss. Evidence of insurance cover is required on request before contract award.
