Landscape management in FFH and nature conservation areas in Berlin

Summary

The tender covers the maintenance and development of FFH sites and nature conservation areas throughout Berlin in 2027–2028, in accordance with existing management plans or nature-conservation concepts. The work includes hand and machine mowing of natural meadows, dry grasslands, fresh and wet meadows, and tall-herb communities; tree felling and thinning, including along watercourses and on wet ground; selective removal of woody growth, control of perennial invasive plants, scrub removal and other peatland protection work, maintenance of aquatic habitats, and installation or upkeep of protective fences, conservation-area signs and information boards. The contracting authority will provide the fence materials. The contract is not divided into lots, and price is the sole award criterion. Work is scheduled for 11 January–26 February 2027, 24 May–26 November 2027, and 10 January 2028–27 October 2028. Bids must be submitted electronically in German by 10:00 on 20 October 2026. Bidders must demonstrate the required liability insurance, staffing and technical capacity, and submit at least three compliant references. Experience in mowing and tree-care work is specifically required. During contract performance, the contractor must comply with the applicable collective-agreement pay rates and working conditions: the standard working week is 39 hours, and the stated gross hourly rates from 1 July 2026 start at EUR 13.53 and vary by employee category up to EUR 27.23. Bidders must also account for overtime, night, Sunday and public-holiday premiums, as well as the annual special payment.
