Book conservation measures on historical collections at the ZLB Berlin

Summary

This tender concerns book conservation measures for the Berlin Central and State Library (ZLB) historical collections. The contract covers dry cleaning of all media, reattachment of loose binding parts, stabilization of edges and corners, securing volumes with ongoing damage, packaging unstable items in Jurismappen, and creation of tailor-made protective covers, plus digital documentation of conservation actions and condition states in an Excel sheet. The project scope is approximately 1,000 running metres of library material, with an estimated 850 hours for coordinating leadership and 2,000 hours for assistants. The contract is a framework agreement with on-demand services. The maximum budget is 125,982 EUR gross. Award will be based on the most economically advantageous tender.
