Replacement of Fibre-Optic Connection Plugs at Aachen Justice Centre

Summary

The tender concerns the removal and replacement of approximately 830 fibre-optic connection ST plugs with LC/PC Duplex OM3 plugs in buildings A, B and C of the Aachen Justice Centre. The work includes supplying the required plugs, installation, proper disposal of the old plugs, end-face inspection in accordance with IEC 61300-3-35, OTDR testing, and attenuation measurements in accordance with ISO/IEC 14763-3 and EN 50174. The test results must be documented in writing and fully functional connection outlets must be handed over. The quantities are 215, 364 and 251 plugs for buildings A, B and C respectively. The tender also includes up to 60 technician hours for unforeseen work; these hours are payable only for the actual, documented work performed with the contracting authority’s prior written approval. The planned performance period is the fourth quarter of 2026. The submission deadline is 21 September 2026 at 10:00, and the tender must be submitted electronically through the contracting authority’s platform in German. Price is the only award criterion. The contract is not divided into lots and alternative tenders are not permitted. The bidder must demonstrate expertise in fibre-optic measurement technology and splicing or termination, submit at least three references for comparable work completed during the previous 24 months, provide calibration certificates no more than 24 months old for the equipment, and state turnover for the three most recently completed financial years.
