Tender detail
Carpentry and timber construction works
Summary
The tender covers carpentry and timber construction works for the energy renovation of the Karlshorst fire station at Dönhoffstrasse 30/31 in Berlin. The contractor will carry out technical preparation and timber works for three courtyard buildings, including new timber roof structures with insulation, airtight layers, ventilation and roof decking; a new ventilated timber facade on the side wing; and staircases, landings, floor structures and raised-floor constructions made of cross-laminated timber in the rear building. The fire station's front building will remain operational and heritage-protection requirements apply. Existing roof removal and hazardous-substance remediation will be performed under a separate contract; scaffolding and temporary weather protection will be provided by the client, while roofing membranes, sheet-metal work, windows, external doors and metalwork are excluded from this package. Natural materials, natural-fibre blown insulation and reuse of recovered timber components are required as described in the tender documents. The works are to start on 30 November 2026 and be completed by 7 May 2027. Bids must be submitted electronically in text form, in German, by 29 September 2026 at 09:50. Alternative bids are permitted, and a one-time registration on the Berlin procurement platform is required.
